As the leaves turn golden and a chill creeps into the air, families throughout the South Bay are getting into spooky season! The Halloween decorations are coming out and costumes are being chosen by the little ones.

If you know us at Bettolino, you know that we love to elevate celebrations with excellent food. We asked our staff how they would “spook up” their favorite pasta at home, and they conjured up some bewitching recipes that will leave your taste buds screaming for more.

Get ready to have fun with the whole family at home with these spooky pasta creations that you can easily whip up in your own cauldron… I mean, kitchen!

Our Spooky Black Tagliolini will be available at Bettolino Kitchen on Halloween night only! Handmade tagliolini pasta infused with squid ink, tossed with cherry tomatoes, sauteed shrimp, and our house basil pesto

1. Wicked Witches Spaghetti

Kick off your Halloween pasta feast with a dish inspired by the iconic Wicked Witch. Boil up some spaghetti until it’s al dente, and then toss it in a luscious basil pesto sauce for that eerie green hue. Garnish with fresh herbs for the witch’s magical ingredients, or for the older kids add edible spider rings and black olive “eyeballs” for an extra spooky touch. This dish is wickedly delicious!

2. Ghostly Gnocchi

Transform traditional gnocchi into adorable little ghost shapes. Simply roll out your favorite gnocchi dough recipe and use a cookie cutter to create ghost outlines. Cook them until they float to the surface, and then sauté with brown butter and sage. These ghostly gnocchi are sure to haunt your taste buds with their buttery goodness.

Turn a fall favorite into a Halloween-themed dish with our butternut squash ravioli recipe.

3. Jack-O-Lantern Ravioli (Use our recipe!)

Embrace the flavors of fall by making ravioli from scratch. The sweet and savory butternut squash filling pairs perfectly with a sage and brown butter sauce. Top it off with toasted pumpkin seeds for an extra crunch that’s both delightful and hauntingly delicious. Here’s our favorite recipe that we love to share with friends like you!

4. Mummy Manicotti

Wrap up your dinner in eerie fashion with manicotti resembling mummies. Stuff large pasta shells with a rich ricotta and spinach mixture, then carefully drape thin strips of lasagna noodles over them to create mummy-like bandages. Bake until golden and serve with marinara sauce for that extra dose of flavor.

On Halloween, Bettolino Kitchen will donate a portion of our proceeds to the Peninsula Committee Children’s Hospital, support children who will miss out on the Halloween fun while receiving care.
